Daylight Robbery! Flowers' defenses against nectar robbers.

About Event

Flowers and animals often depend strongly on each other. Many flowers need animals to pollinate them so that they can produce seed. These flowers make a sugar solution (nectar) to attract and reward the animals that pollinate them. But there are cheaters! Nectar robbers take the nectar without benefitting the flower. Who are the cheaters? How are the flowers defending themselves? Find out more in this talk with pollination specialist, [Dr Anina Coetzee, from the Nelson Mandela University's Department of Conservation Management.](https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fconservation.mandela.ac.za%2FAcademic-Staff%2FAnina-Coetzee&data=05%7C02%7CRhoda.Malgas%40mandela.ac.za%7C675537e255a04ece44cc08df1e686f2c%7Cbd70eeb3a537435a937c7cd330dc74d8%7C0%7C0%7C639263106048926695%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=SBH7K58K6kIofZSsmoaEozBnPiKxmTkNAL0xC9aj4O8%3D&reserved=0)
